ExporTT Ltd is ramping up efforts to help local exporters penetrate Latin American markets. It’s no easy task, admits the company’s export promotions manager Betty-Ann Noriega Mollineau.

“It may be difficult to penetrate some of these markets but we are working on that,” she said. ExporTT, the National Export Facilitation Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago, is charged with generating export growth and diversification in the non-energy goods and services sectors.

FINANCE Minister Colm Imbert says this country is under no obligation to follow any recommendations made by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The IMF is assembling a team to visit T&T for its annual Article IV consultations, but no date has yet been set for the visit.
