AHEAD of Bernard Mitchell’s three-year contract as the chief executive of National Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd (NP) coming to an end, some 488 employees have put their signatures to a letter to Energy Minister Franklin Khan asking that his contract be renewed.

Mitchell was appointed chief executive to NP, the State’s fuel distribution company, in January 2017. That means his contract comes to an end in January 2020, more than two months away. The two-page letter contained attachments of signatures of employees from Trinidad as well as Tobago, NP Dominica and NATPET and was signed, NP 488.
