This year’s edition of Fete With The Saints, now regarded as “The Fete of the Year” in recent times, took place on February 9 at the picturesque St Mary’s College Grounds, Serpentine Road, St Clair, from 6 p.m. to midnight.

The organising committee for Fete With The Saints has been hosting this top of the line Carnival fete for several years and since they moved it from the College compound on Frederick Street in uptown Port of Spain to the Sports Grounds in St Clair, they have succeeded in consistently taking the event to higher heights.

One feature of the event has been the décor which has been truly outstanding and this year even more surprises are in store for patrons. The CIC Sports Grounds was transformed to produce a magical, breathtaking setting that is clearly designed to leave party-goers with a premiere party experience. The theme for the 2019 fete was “Be Submerged” and was based on a concept that is related to the mythical island of Atlantis, that will see the already scenic CIC Grounds become a veritable fete paradise, the first of its kind in T&T.

There were be a number of booths staffed with trained personnel to “touch-up” the ladies’ hairstyles and make-up so that in spite of feteing to the max, they continued to look as beautiful and as cool as they did when they entered the fete.

Patrons partied to the music of the unbeatable combination of Machel and Kees, along with world-famous DJs, Nuphoric and Private Ryan, both of whom were able to keep patrons pumped up all night long. There were also be a host of guest artistes performing the hottest soca hits of the new season.

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh has appeared on the Daily Show with Trevor Noah, addressing controversial claims made by Trinidad-born American rapper Nicki Minaj about the Covid-19 vaccine.

President Paula-Mae Weekes must immediately intervene in the controversy surrounding Gary Griffith and ask members of the Police Service Commission (PolSC) whether they have taken instructions from a politician to instruct him (Griffith) to not return to work.

Gary Griffith is to be sent on paid administrative leave, sources said last night.

Griffith was due to return to work on Tuesday, September 21 when his vacation leave was supposed to end to resume duties as acting Commissioner of Police.

Gary Griffith says, contrary to what National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds said in the Senate yesterday, Hinds did not tell him to stay away from duties until September 20 when his requested leave expires.
