Cabinet imposes travel restriction on persons who travelled to China

On January 30, the Cabinet imposed a travel restriction on persons who had been in China for 14 days prior to their arrival in Trinidad and Tobago. Such persons were not permitted to enter the country while nationals and residents who had been in China for 14 days were to be quarantined and observed.

As the virus continued to spread globally, citizens voiced concerns on what this disease would mean for the country’s two-day carnival celebrations, which is known to draw visitors from around the world.
