The killing spree across Trinidad and Tobago continued yesterday with four more murders, bringing the number of murders for the year to 428.

Last year at this time there were 417 murders. The number of murders recorded in the first 17 days of October is 19, while 15 murders were committed for the comparative 17-day period in 2018. A Cedros woman who was snatched by criminals during a power outage on Wednesday was found dead.

Satnarayan Maharaj left an indelible mark on Trinidad and Tobago through his bravery, courage, fight for justice and achievements. Maharaj, 88, secretary general of the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha (SDMS) died on Saturday after suffering a stroke on November 7.
