TWO more Covid-19 deaths have pushed Trinidad and Tobago’s Covid-19 death toll to 58.

The casualties are two men, one is elderly.

Both men had pre-existing medical conditions, the Ministry of Health reported yesterday.

The ministry also disclosed that 104 more people also tested positive for Covid-19 virus. There are now 3,327 cases of the virus, 2,459 of which are active.

In its morning update yesterday, the minister reported 70 new cases of the virus and one death.

It said 12 people were discharged from hospital while 2,133 positive patients are isolated at home and being monitored by respective County Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) offices.

Hospitalised are 96 patients—62 at Couva Hospital, 24 at Caura Hospital, eight at Arima Hospital and two at the Augustus Long Hospital.

The ministry noted that six patients are currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Couva Hospital and five are in ICU at Arima.

It stated that nine people are in High Dependency Units—four at Couva Hospital, three at Arima Hospital, and three at Augustus Long Hospital.

In its evening update, the minister reported another Covid-19 death and 34 more cases of the virus.
