Police are trying to determine a motive for the killing of two men who left their homes to cut logs on Saturday night.

The deceased have been identified as Bryan Felix, 40, and Alim Khan, 50.

Both men were neighbours, police said, and resided along the main road in Cumuto.

The men were last seen alive on Saturday morning by their relatives when they went to a parcel of land along Sin Verguenza Road, Sangre Grande, to cut some logs to build a wooden structure on the land.

The men, however, failed to return home.

Relatives began searching for the two that evening, but their bodies weren’t discovered until around 7 a.m. on Sunday.

The bodies of the two men were found about a quarter mile off the northern side of the roadway.

They both bore gunshot wounds to the head.

They immediately notified police, and officers from the Eastern Division and the Homicide Bureau responded.

An autopsy has been ordered and is expected to take place today at Forensic Science Centre, St James.

Police have no official motive for the killings. However, they have received intelligence that the men had previously been confronted over a parcel of land in the area.

Relatives of both Felix and Khan were left shocked and stumped over the killings, noting both men had never troubled anyone in their lives.
