THE Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) said yesterday it will meet with the United National Congress (UNC) on Thursday, following the party’s complaint that the commission ignored its request to investigate some “1,684 inconsistencies and anomalies” within several electoral districts.

The EBC responded via media release yesterday that it had noted the UNC’s statement, and that it ­received the party’s correspondence on October 11. “It immediately launch­ed an internal investigation to provide an accurate and timely response,” the commission stated of ­itself.


A NUMBER of Unipet gas stations ran out of fuel yesterday after State company Paria Fuel Trading cut its supply on Tuesday for an outstanding $100 million bill.
