A Cedros engineer who was forced to strip down to his jockey shorts and imprisoned for more than three hours at the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court successfully sued the State and was awarded $55,000.

Ryan Jaggernauth received a ticket for a traffic offence, which carries no period of imprisonment and a maximum sentence of a fine of $1,000.

In February 2017, Jaggernauth received a summons to appear before the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court on April 13, 2017, to answer the charge of driving without due care and caution.
