Killed: Djimon Sanderson

DJIMON Sanderson, the grandson of former Government Minister and former Fyzabad Member of Parliament Arthur Sanderson, was gunned down on Wednesday night.

Djimon Sanderson, 21, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Fyzabad.

Around 11 p.m. he exited a vehicle near his home at Gowers Well Road when a white vehicle pulled up alongside.

The occupants of the vehicle opened fire and Djimon Sanderson was shot several times.

He fell into a drain and died, police said.

Residents contacted police and officers of the Fyzabad CID and Homicide Region III responded.

Police said that Djimon Sanderson went to court on Monday for the offence of possession of marijuana.


OPPOSITION Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar says the Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union (OWTU) is attempting to deflect scrutiny of what she described yesterday as its failure to protect former Petrotrin workers.

Tabaquite MP Suruj Rambachan said yesterday he was very concerned about fraudsters coming into the country and operating and working illegally as spiritualists and “ripping people off”. Noting that there were such persons “all over the country”, Rambachan said they were sometimes being facilitated by local people.
