THE parents of an 11-year-old girl have issued a legal threat to the South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) after their child was administered a vaccine at her school earlier this month without their permission.

They said the SWRHA had fallen “disgracefully short of what was required” and has called upon it to indicate its position with respect to liability by no later than October 31, or else High Court proceedings will be filed. On Thursday, attorneys representing the parents issued a pre-action protocol letter to Dr Brian Armour, chief executive officer of the SWRHA.
