Hearse

The hearse, an American made motor-bike which has a see through compartment that carries the coffin began circulating on social media.

THOSE wishing to celebrate the life of a loved one now have one more option for that person’s final passage to the grave, crematorium or cremation site following the importation of a Harley Davidson hearse.

It is the first of its kind in Trinidad and Tobago.

This said Beverly Guide of Guide’s Funeral Home, Coffee Street, San Fernando.

Images of the American made motor-bike which has a see through compartment that carries the coffin began circulating on social media from around midday yesterday.

Since then, Guide’s have been on the receiving end of many phone-calls from bike enthusiasts who want a closer look at the unique looking vehicle.

“Since last year we had been looking for something unique and different to please our customers and we didn’t want anything old fashioned but we wanted something new”, said Guide.

She said that between last year and now they had received requests but not for not a black or white station wagon or SUV Cadillac and Lincoln but something in which the body can be displayed en route to its final resting place.

She said they had the option of a traditional carriage that can either be drawn by a horse or towed by a van or SUV but then following a board meeting their eyes rested on the Harley.

She added that the Harley hearse was not necessarily just for funeral processions for which permission would be sought from the police but any funeral.

“We want to give our customers what they are asking for and this is not just for bikers but dignitaries and military as well. So who ever wants it can get it”, she beamed.

“We celebrate the life of a person and it does not have to be gloomy but celebrating the life of a person who wants to go out in a prestigious way”, she said.

“The industry is changing and people are looking at death in different ways,” she said.
