A MAN has been committed to stand trial after he was charged with the kidnap, indecent assault and robbery, with violence, against a female doctor after she finished work back in 2014.

Ramesh Seushai also faced a charge of possession of cocaine.

Police prosecutor Cleyon Seedan tendered statement from eight witnesses in the matters which proceeded by way of paper committal before San Fernando senior magistrate Jo-Anne Connor.

Seushai, 39 of Tableland, represented himself in the cases in which he was charged by constable Douglas.

Connor on Monday found that the prosecution made a prima facie case against Seushai and committed him to stand trial before the High Court.

Following his committal, he was placed n $100,000 bail with a cash alternative of $20,000.

The doctor had finished her shift at the Accident and Emergency Department of the San Fernando General Hospital around 10.30 p.m. on November 26 2014 and went to the car park. While in her car, a man allegedly opened the door, told the then 24-year-old that he had a gun and took her $2,200 cellular phone, $800 watch and $6, forced her to drive from the carpark and also fondled her breast.
