Zesser pills

BOTH National Security Minister Stuart Young and the police expressed concern yesterday over the influx of “Zesser pills” in the nation’s schools.

Young, in a statement, said the information coming from both print and social media was concerning, and although the chemical component in the pills seized so far needed to be verified, he urged the public to avoid taking them as “this drug has been attributed to causing severe adverse (physical and mental) behavioural reactions in users.

“The Ministry of National Security continues to urge the public to avoid the use of any substances with psychoactive properties, in the interest of their health, safety and well-being,” he said.

During yesterday’s weekly police media briefing, public information officer ASP Wayne Mystar said the police were also concerned about the availability of what he called “the party drug” in the hands of schoolchildren.
