THE 87 members of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) who were deployed to the Bahamas, as part of the Caribbean Community’s (Caricom) contribution to the relief effort following Hurricane Dorian, will be returning home today.

The TTDF personnel arrived in the Bahamas on September 8 and were attached to the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) to provide relief support to Grand Bahama as guided by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

A news release issued by the RBDF yesterday said the TTDF members returned to New Providence on Friday, when they were hosted at a reception at the Defence Force base and were thanked by base executive officer Commander Michael Sweeting on behalf of commander, Defence Force, Commodore Tellis Bethel, for their service during the hurricane relief.
