HOW many Venezuelans are really living in Trinidad and Tobago? Activists who are helping Venezuelan migrants here say they agree with Monday’s BBC documentary The Displaced which stated that 40,000 Venezuelans are living here.

They also said a number of Venezuelans who were registered are still waiting to collect registration cards and continue to face discrimination. One activist has gone so far as to suggest there are “more than 40,000 Venezuelans” and “they keep coming”. Activists who are helping Venezuelan migrants said yesterday they did not want to comment on Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley’s statements following the BBC report.
