Wild meat carcasses

‘UNHYGIENIC’: Wild meat carcasses, most likely from South America, which were seized by law enforcement officers yesterday morning.

WILD meat consumers are being warned by Agriculture Minister Clarence Rambharat to exercise caution when purchasing their meats as they could be possibly buying decaying carcasses from Venezuela that, when consumed, could result in illness or even death.

Rambharat issued the warning on his Facebook page yesterday after law enforcement officers seized “a significant amount of wild meat carcasses, most likely from South America, destined for sale to unsuspecting consumers locally” yesterday morning. Three Trinidad and Tobago nationals were arrested after the dead animals were found in their possession and charges against them were being laid yesterday, said the minister.

Antoine was summarily removed as the party’s candidate for the 2020 general election following his “insensitive and objectionable statements” at a campaign meeting on Saturday.
