A Carapichaima man was killed in a shootout with police on Thursday morning.
It happened at Mungal Trace home at around 4.30am.
Reports stated that Central Division officers went to the home of Devon Lewis to execute a search warrant.
The officers were searching for arms and ammunition.
But as the officers approached the house, police said someone from inside began shooting.
The officers responded with gunfire, and Lewis was shot multiple times.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say a Glock pistol was recovered inside the house.
Police said Lewis had matters before the court for firearm offences.
