Killed: Ravi Ramkissoon

A COUVA man who went to police days ago to report that he was being threatened was killed yesterday afternoon.

Ravi Ramkissoon, 49, a father of two, was reversing into his garage at Basta Hall when his killer approached around 4.30 p.m.

Ramkissoon was shot at least five times in the head and chest.

The killer escaped in a vehicle.

Police officers took Ramkissoon to the Couva District Health Facility where his wife is an employee. He died at the facility.

Member of Parliament for Couva South, Rudranath Indarsingh, said he was at his office opposite the health facility when he was told of the shooting.

Indarsingh said he knew Ramkissoon since he was a child as they grew up in the same community in Caroni.

Indarsingh said relatives told him that on Monday Ramkissoon had an altercation with a man who threatened him, and he went to the Couva police to report it.

Officers of Homicide Region III and Couva Police Station responded and are continuing investigations.

Ramkissoon was the 450th person murdered for the year so far.
