Killed: Devanand Sugrim

A man was gunned down at his fruit stall outside his house Penal on Tuesday.

Devanand Sugrim, 53, was shot multiple times and died in the arms of relatives and neighbours who went to his assistance.

Sugrim was at his stall when around 5.30 p.m. the killer emerged from a Toyota Aqua and shot Sugrim at close range.

The gunman returned to the vehicle and sped off.

Police do not yet know the motive for the killing.

THERE is a backlog of 7,000 ballistics cases in Trinidad and Tobago.
