THE severed arm that was found in Longdenville last month may belong to a woman.
After a forensic examination of the body part, officers were told the arm had female features.
The find was made near an isolated area in Depot Road on December 26.
Police officers with sniffer dogs had combed through the area for at least two days, but no other human body parts were found.
The arm, which was severed at the shoulder and wrist, is being kept at the Forensic Science Centre in Federation Park.
