An open letter to Akilah Holder. With reference to your letter to the editor that appeared in Friday’s Express, I would like to bring some things to your attention:
1. Neither the Prime Minister nor the Government of Trinidad and Tobago has the right to lead a country based on the whims and fancies of any particular religious group.
2. Please do remember that, as you rightfully stated in your letter, the LGBT community is not a “separate species” but “regular people who are entitled to the protections that all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago enjoy under the laws of the nation”.
