I am disappointed and worried to see in the highest court of our country the elected members of Parliament aren’t taking the right step in finding a solution to reduce killings taking place in our country.
Killings have now reached 496 for this year and counting. Instead the Attorney General chose to bring to Parliament the Bail Amendment Bill before the Lower House of Parliament and didn’t get the support of the Opposition party to do so.
Whatever reasons or objections by the Opposition party there must be some valid points not raised when it was drafted for it not to be approved
As an ordinary citizen I definitely feel if the Bail Amendment Bill was passed or not it will not solve the killing taking place in our country. killings have risen dramatically by this PNM administration headed by Dr Keith Christopher Rowley.
I feel to reinstate the death penalty which is the law of the land for pre-meditated murder after a convicted killer loses his appeal at the Privy Council. It will be a step in the right direction. Those who lost their loved ones in the most callous and inhumane ways have no recourse when killers get away scot-free.
