Trinbagonians travelling to Barbados are not expected to face any “additional challenge” as a result of the “travel bubble for specific Caribbean countries with a low incidence of Covid 19”, which has been announced by the government of Barbados, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Amery Browne said in the Senate yesterday as he responded to an urgent question posed by Opposition Senator Wade Mark.

A total of 200,000 Sinopharm vaccines from China arrived in Trinidad yesterday.

Trinidad and Tobago had received a gift of 100,000 Sinopharm vaccines previously from the Chinese government, bringing the total to 300,000 so far. A plane touched down at Piarco International Airport yesterday with the vaccines.

I hope the Government considers giving a booster shot of the Sinopharm vaccine if supplies are available to this country. Dr Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and Caricom Affairs, said T&T will receive 200,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine from China this week.

Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-­Bissessar has fired back at Health Minister Terrence Deyal­singh and Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Amery Browne, describing them as “deadbeat” ministers.

She said if these ministers were doing their job, she would not have to write India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, requesting vaccines for the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
