Visionary with groom Ryan Forde

FOREIGN ENTRANT: Barbadian entry, Visionary with groom Ryan Forde in the Santa Rosa Park quarantine facility. The roan/grey owned by Mark Goodridge SC and trained by Remel Lovell will leave from gate four in Tuesday’s 2,000-metre Carib Brewery Limited Trinidad Derby Stakes at Santa Rosa Park. He will be partnered by Affrie Ward (cousin of Anderson Ward) in the ten-horse Derby which is the eighth-race on the nine-race Arima Race Club’s Derby Day card.

THE RETURN of Barbadian interests to the Trinidad Derby Stakes at Santa Rosa Park on September 24 has rekindled the hope of greater Caribbean participation in this country’s premier horse racing event.

Barbadian trainer, 38-year-old Remel Lovell, with four years’ training experience, will saddle maiden Visionary for owner Mark Goodridge in the 2,000-metre contest sponsored by Carib Brewery Limited.

Lovell has already saddled several winners from his barn of 13 horses. And he admitted that winning a Derby in any country would be very big dream come true.
