T20 RETURN: Lendl Simmons

After a day and a half of “intense discussion,” lead selector Roger Harper, fellow selector Miles Bascombe and new coach Phil Simmons gave fresh life to the international career of Lendl Simmons, rewarded Brandon King and Hayden Walsh Jr for performance and put Darren Bravo’s West Indies future on hold when they picked their first teams to face Afghanistan next month.

Simmons was picked for the T20 squad that will play a three-match series against the Afghans in India, while Walsh Jr, from the US Virgin Islands and Jamaican King were selected for both the T20 squad and the ODI team that will also play a three-match series against the same opponents.
