DOUBLE TITLES: Chelsea Fong

CHELSEA FONG shone brightest of all the stars in the Solo National Junior Table Tennis Championship last weekend at National Racquet Centre, Orange Grove Main Road, Tacarigua.

A few weeks after reaching the semi-finals of the women’s singles draw during the open events, the WASA Club player lifted the trophies in the Under-18 and 21 divisions. After never making any impression against former teammate Brittany Joseph before, Fong failed to close out a two-game to love lead, but recovered in the nick of time to stun the defending champion 11-6, 11-8, 8-11, 8-11, 11-8 in the Under-21 final.
