When a group of young footballers left for Florida, USA to represent Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) at the Concacaf Under-17 Championship, it was a childhood dream come true for one team member in particular, Jeremy Patrick Terrell Lashley.

Born in Edmonton, Canada to Trinidadian parents Patrick and Dale Lashley, Jeremy began playing football from as early as four-and-a-half years old, showing a keen eye for goal-scoring, averaging as many as four per game.

His parents had a vision of him representing Canada one day but they were blown away when he said, “not Canada, I want to play for Trinidad and Tobago”. What followed, his father Patrick believes, was pure destiny.
