Despite continued poor results on the field over the first six months of his tenure, Cricket West Indies president Ricky Skerritt insists his administration is making a lot of progress on all fronts, including on the field.

The West Indies women’s team yesterday went down to Australia in the final match of their One-Day International series, which is part of the ICC Women’s Championship, while the senior men’s side lost all three of their recent home series against India, losing the T20I rubber 3-0, the One-day series 2-0 and the Test series 2-0. This follows the team’s losing campaign at the 50-over World Cup in June/July where Jason Holder’s side won just two of their nine matches and failed to reach the semi-finals.

But Skerritt, who defeated Dave Cameron in the CWI presidential elections in March, is not put off by those results.

Heading into today’s One-Day International series opener against Sri Lanka, West Indies captain Kieron Pollard has said the team will be focused on executing its game plan and improving overall as an outfit.
