Kwanieze John

EXPERIENCED PLAYER: In this flashback photo, Team TTO's Kwanieze John, centre, is double-teamed during a Pan American Games group match against Argentina in Lima, Peru in July. John scored two second-half tries for Royalians against Police last Sunday.

While former national men’s champions Royalians are enduring a difficult period, languishing at the bottom of local rugby’s Championship Division standings, their female counterparts are proudly flying the all-blue pennant, well clear of their nearest challengers in the race for the national women’s championship.

With three rounds left to play in the national Rugby Union (TTRFU) Women’s Division League, Royalians appear to have cemented their place atop the four-team table. Unbeaten after five outings, their latest victory came in the form of a 38-5 blowout of second-placed Police at the St James Barracks on Sunday.
