CRYSTAL JONES scored 30 more goals than they entire University of the West Indies team as TTPost progressed to the semi-final stage of the Courts All Sectors Netball League Alternative Division Knockout competition with a comprehensive 49-1 victory over UWI.

Goal-shoot Jones netted 31 of 45 attempts while goal-attacks Shyan Bacquain (15 goals) and Nadine Wilson-Williams combined for another 18 goals. UWI took an entire half to get their lone goal, through Gabriella Holder. TT Post led 29-1 at half-time.

There were also victories for Jabloteh and Police X in the Retro Division league competition.

Paced by Julia Britto’s 31 goals and another 12 from Sherry Thomas (GS), Jabloteh defeated Police Y 40-29, while Police X stopped Las Lomas 44-29 with Donna-Elise Charles (28) and Beverly Hernandez (16) scoring most of the goals for the winners. Michelle Hutchins got 18 goals for Las Lomas.


Heading into today’s One-Day International series opener against Sri Lanka, West Indies captain Kieron Pollard has said the team will be focused on executing its game plan and improving overall as an outfit.
