Chris Richards Jnr fired a three over par 75 to take a two-stroke lead in the Boys 13 and under division after the first day of the 11th Republic Bank Caribbean Junior Open at St Andrews Golf Course yesterday. Zico Correia, Richards’ local rival, is joint-second with Guadeloupe’s Theo Jean–Noel after both shot 77.

Twenty-nine foreigners out of a field of 93 juniors are competing this year. In the boy’s 18 & under age group, the leader is Jonathan Jean-Noel from Guadeloupe who shot a fine 75. Barbadian Iz Hustler follows in second with 78 while his countrymen Ozaih Layne and Zxavier Wiggins are joint-third, with both shooting 80.
